| Matthew Chenoweth (Ph.D. 2003). After completing my Ph.D. in 2003, I took a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. My research focused on chaperones in Escherichia coli, particularly on the stationary-phase associated CbpA-CbpM system. I remained at NCI until 2008, at which point I made the switch from research to teaching. I accepted an assistant professor position at Dalton State College, a teaching institution in the University of Georgia system. I have developed a junior level genetics course from the ground up, and I also teach Introductory Biology I and II. I look forward to adding more classes in the future, hopefully including a bacterial pathogenesis course modeled after UGA’s MIBO 4220/6220. Teaching has been very rewarding and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at DSC. |
