10-18-11 ASM announced in Microbe magazine that Laura Williams, PhD graduate from Anne Summers’ laboratory (2009), is one of three recipients of Career Development Grants for Postdoctoral Women. Laura, who is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Duke University’s Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy, used the grant to learn new techniques for isolation and characterization of predatory bacteria in the laboratory of Elizabeth Sockett at the University of Nottingham, UK.
