Our Dept Head, William (Barny) Whitman was just appointed a Distinguished Research Professor, effective July 1 of the current year. This appointment from the UGA Office of the VP for Research and approved by the President and the Provosts offices, recognizes a sustained and continuing record of outstanding research. This is a highly noteworthy honor, and we are fortunate to have Barny here both as our Dept. Head and as an internationally-acclaimed researcher.
