Congratulations to Dr. Brian Higgins, who has been selected to be a Lilly Teaching Fellow at UGA! Up to ten faculty members are selected each year to participate in the two-year Lilly Teaching Fellow program. The goals of the program include to "provide opportunities for the Fellows to further develop skills associated with effective teaching" and to "reinforce an instructional environment that honors and recognizes dedicated teaching scholars; values a synergistic relationship between teaching, research, and service; and promotes a learning community spirit on a large campus". Many recipients of the highest teaching awards at UGA (Meigs and Russell Awards), as well as several current deans, associate deans, and associate provost were Lilly Fellows.
