Certificate in Industrial Bioscience Skills, 16-19 hours 

The Undergraduate Certificate in Applied Life Science Industry Skills is a program designed to equip students with the advanced technical competencies, communication expertise, and professional readiness essential for success in the rapidly evolving biotechnology industry. Leveraging the University of Georgia’s existing courses, expert instructional personnel, and state-of-the-art research laboratories, the curriculum offers a rigorous and immersive educational experience. 

Participants will gain hands-on proficiency in cutting-edge laboratory techniques, data analysis, and experimental design, while also developing strong written and oral communication skills tailored to scientific and professional contexts. The program emphasizes real-world applications and career preparation through integrated coursework and experiential learning opportunities. 

 

 

How to enroll:

  1. Select the “Certificate in Industrial Bioscience Skills” on the My Programs page in Athena to add it to your curriculum. You should do this while you are pursuing the certificate, not at completion. You also need to submit the Microsoft form listed above.
  2. Once you have completed all requirements, you will then apply to “graduate” with the certificate via Athena - just like applying to graduate for a degree (see https://reg.uga.edu/faculty-and-staff/training-materials/).
  3. Then, the Registrar’s Office will check to verify you have fulfilled the certificate requirements and your transcript will note ‘Awarded’ for the certificate if everything looks to be in order.
